Critical writing: Illustration as a visual communication method

Illustration is an example of this slightly more informal method of visual communication as it can be used when photography or typography alone does not portray the message effectively. Research has shown that the parties often use illustration on social media accounts to enhance their current campaigns, allowing them to reach a wider target audiece. The use of illustration means that darker, complicated or just hard to capture with typography issues can be released with the assurance that it will still reach people. I have found examples of illustration for the parties by looking at mainly their social media accounts.

-       Used when methods such as photography would not be appropriate
